The "code" you are looking for is in the first 9 bytes of the firmware, or any of the following snippets:
File Name: VwRcd310%d.firm
Package: VwRcd310%d.firm
The first one is the actual data for the firmware. The next are some headers.
If you have a device from one of those vendors (it's basically a serial number for your device) you can get the code, if it's not the one you are looking for you will have to ask someone that has this tool to work on your device to extract the code.
You could also try the vendors website to get the code (e.g.
The number at the end is important. It is the revision of your device. The most common are
000 - Rev 1.0 (1987)
001 - Rev 1.1 (1990)
...
999 - Rev 1.9 (2005)
But there are some changes to the protocol/firmware over the years. Your device might have a specific revision.
The "original" firmware for older models is in the above file.
The other thing to be aware of is that you can have one and only one revision for one device. E.g. if you had an 001 device then you would be out of luck and you would have to wait for another model.
